Ethyl Acetate Extract of Dracocephalum heterophyllum Benth Ameliorates Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis and Fibrosis via Regulating Bile Acid Metabolism, Oxidative Stress and Inhibiting Inflammation

Dracocephalum heterophyllum Benth is well-known for its ability to alleviate liver heat. In this study, ethyl acetate extracts were evaluated on mouse models of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and fibrosis. After 6 8 weeks treatment, serum parameters gene expressions in tissue samples, as well stained sections, demonstrated that the effective treating these diseases. The principal bioactive constituent (rosmarinic acid) was identified screened by high pressure liquid chromatography-1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl affinity ultrafiltration-HPLC. rosmarinic acid separated from with purity medium- high-pressure chromatography. Finally, interactions between key targets lipid metabolism, oxidative stress inflammation verified molecular docking. Thereby, an indirect regulation cholesterol metabolism inhibition fibrosis studied extract has been observed. This study have potential treat fibrosis, revealing their multi-target multi-pathway therapeutic characteristics.
